Third-Party Data Notice 路 My Cosmic Self
Version 0.1 路 2026-07-12
This notice is for people whose birth details have been entered into My Cosmic Self by someone else, for example a friend, partner, or family member who wanted to explore astrological compatibility ("synastry") with you. We publish it under GDPR Art. 14 so that you know what happens to that data. It also explains the responsibilities of the person entering the data.
The service is operated jointly by Lars Hoernle & Luca Sator, Affolternstrasse 81, 8050 Zurich, Switzerland. Contact: luca.lars.saho@gmail.com.
1. What a user can enter about another person
A user of My Cosmic Self can add another person to run a compatibility reading. To do this they may enter:
- that person's first name,
- the type of relationship (for example partner, friend, family),
- and that person's birth date, time, and place (and the coordinates derived from the place).
2. What we do with it
From those birth details we calculate an astrological compatibility ("synastry") chart between the user and the named person. The data and the resulting chart are stored in the user's private account so they can view the reading.
We do not:
- contact the person whose details were entered;
- build a profile of that person beyond the compatibility reading itself;
- sell, share, or disclose that person's data to anyone outside our processors (who only host the data for us);
- use that person's data for advertising or marketing.
3. Our legal basis
We rely on the legitimate interest of the user in generating a private compatibility reading for their own personal use (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Because we usually have no way to contact the person whose details were entered, we rely on the Art. 14(5)(b) exemption (where giving individual notice would be impossible or a disproportionate effort), supported by this public notice and by our documented assessment balancing that person's rights against the limited, private nature of the processing. We minimise what is stored and do not use the data beyond the reading.
4. How long we keep it, and international handling
We keep the entered data for as long as the user keeps the person in their account or until their account is deleted. The user can delete a person's data from within the app, and it is removed when their account is deleted. The data is stored with our processor Supabase and, when the user generates an AI compatibility reading or a chart-aware AI chat reply, limited chart context (including this person's first name and chart-derived compatibility data) may be processed by our AI provider Groq (United States) under Standard Contractual Clauses. See our Privacy Policy for details.
5. If your data was entered and you want it removed
If you believe your birth details have been entered into My Cosmic Self and you want them deleted, or you want to object to the processing, contact us at luca.lars.saho@gmail.com. Tell us the first name and, if you can, enough detail to locate the record. We will delete the data unless we are legally required to keep it, and we will confirm when it is done.
6. The user's responsibility (attestation)
If you are the person entering someone else's details: only enter another person's data if you are entitled to do so and have informed them, or it is genuinely for your own private use. You are responsible for having a proper basis to enter that person's information. When you add a person in the app, you confirm that this is the case.
